Ruphina Nnebedum

Ruphina Nnebedum is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a great passion for safety, holistic well-being, and patient centered care, currently a Doctoral Degree student. Ruphina began her health care field journey at Minnetonka Assisted Living Suites, Minnetonka, Minnesota, before relocating to the DMV area where she continued in the Health Care sector until she became a Registered Nurse in 2012. Over the years, Ruphina has had the opportunity to treat patients in a wide variety of settings such as Home Health, Nursing Rehab facilities, Long-term care, Cardio-Thoracic unit at The George Washington University Hospital where she was recognized on The Weekly in June 2017, as an excellent caregiver, and Behavioral Health units.
Through her years of experience at bedside, Ruphina recognized the need for people with mental health challenges to be heard. To help eradicate the stigma around mental health, to provide listening ears, compassionate, and holistic cares/treatment, Ruphina went to work full time in Psychiatric Nursing. This move made her more aware of the need for mental health professionals in the health care system, hence, her obtaining a Master’s Degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Ruphina believes mental illness is similar to medical illness, everyone has one or more things they are dealing with, but with the proper treatment, we all can be at our best, and function well in the community and society in general.
